Hey there,

my friend currently uses a laptop and he wants to run new games, so he asked me to build him a PC. He has €700 to spend on on the PC and monitor and he doesn't pay the VAT. He's oredering on monday. Also in approximately a month he has his birthday and he's getting a 128GB SSD and Hyper 212 EVO for that, so I didn't have to include it in the build. I created 2 builds and I'm not sure which is a better pick, so I ask here.

Build one:

i5 4440

Asrock H87 Pro4

Adata XPG V2 2x4GB 1600MHz CL9

EVGA GTX760 ACX

WD Blue 1TB

Corsair CX500M

Corsair 350D

BenQ GW2320

Build 2:

AMD FX8320

Asrock 970 Extreme3 R2.0

Adata XPG V2 2x4GB 1600MHz CL9

MSI R9 280X Gaming 3G

WD Blue 1TB

Corsair CX500M

Corsair 200R Windowed

BenQ GW2320

Build one is approximately €15 cheaper. So which one should he buy?

build two seems like a stronger option, you can "crossfire" your apu and gpu together and the 280 is stronger than the 760 imo

the 8320 isnt an apu, it doesnt have integrated graphics.

The second build looks stronger. Especially when he gets an 212 EVO later he will be abled to cool it properly and OC.

btw. the mobo of the first build doesn't fit into the 350D (µATX)

There are 2 boards called the same, one is ATX, other mATX. I meant the mATX one. Also what are the OC possibilities on the 970 chipset?

The 970 chipset can be pretty decent for oc'ing. The Extreme 3 isn't that good of a board for oc'ing though.

Where are you shopping? Budget?

Budget is in the OP, €700 excl. VAT. I can't really afford a lot better boards since the build is already slightly over. Other boards in the budget are MSI 970A-G46, Asus M5A97 R2.0 and Gigabyte 970A-UD3P. I'm currently leaning towards the Gigabyte one, but I can also pay up for 990FX chipset, but downgrade the GPU to R9 280.

I'm shopping here: www.alza.sk

Only dark green labeled products saying available are relevant.

he should wait for the uber pentium CPU's and double team it with a 760 to get the MOST price/performance if he cant wait he should go for the build number 2

What are those "uber pentium" CPUs? G3xxx?

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

I'd stay away from the G46 since it can have issues with fx 8 cores. The M5A97 R2.0 is actually better than some 990fx boards for oc'ing.

Looks good, but he doesn't need the SSD now, since he's getting it as a birthday present in a month, so now he can spend the money be has on the best CPU/GPU combo he can get and other essentials. He also needs a monitor in the budget. And why are there 2 PSU's in the list?

My bad, it was left over from the last list. Go with the cx500m.
