Upgrading GPU/Bottlenecking

Go to solution Solved by FloRolf,

Your GPU has to be on 100% in order for it to not be bottlenecked by the CPU. It's really hard to bottleneck a gt630 though 馃槈

I'd say a 1650S would be a very neat upgrade and then you can always upgrade the CPU later.聽

Also, a CPU bottleneck won't kill you, it just leaves some performance unused in certain games while in other it may not bottleneck.聽

Hello everyone, I聽have a low range computer at home and I only play old cool/basic games ( OLD NFSMW, SIMS 4, COMMAND AND CONQER, ETC) when I check my performance (while in game) my gpu is at 100% I want to buy a new graphics cards but am worried about being bottlenecked, an sadly don't have enough to upgrade to DDR4. Any info would be greatly appreciated!! :)

My Specs

聽 QuadCore Intel core i7-860

聽 MSI P55M-GD45 (MS-7588)

聽 14G RAM

聽 Geforce Gt 630 2gb聽

聽 ATX 300V Power supply聽

I don't have a ton of experience in this regard, as it is relatively old hardware, but how does a (used) 750ti sound? I聽remember a friend who upgraded from a similar card to a 750ti. You could also look for a (used) 1050 ti which would obviously be better, but I don't know if you'll run into a CPU bottleneck.

Attention is what makes life meaningful.

Also, please quote me for聽a reply. 馃檪

-> Moved to Graphics Cards

***

Main problem with GPU upgrade is that unless your PSU is really, really good, you would probably have to look into upgrading that too.
