Corsair link (cable) question?

Mark Kaine
Go to solution Solved by Guest,

The four pin is I2C.  There's an I2C to USB adapter that's sold separately that you could use.

So there are two corsair link cables coming with my Corsair RMi power supply, but they don't tell you at all what the second "corsair link" cable even is for...

now, I've already found the answer (from 2006) over at another forum, confirmed by @jonnyGURUthat you're supposed to only use the "usb" cable, but, you could use either or ... so far so good, but I'm now still wondering where does the "4 pin corsair link" cable even attach to (looks like fan header but not sure that makes sense)

Reason I'm asking is that USB plug (mini?) I know them, they don't last... so if I can use the other corsair link cable instead without big downsides... that would be preferable, but I'm not sure if it's really possible and where it attaches to (it's not mentioned in the manual at all, except "USB header, which I'm not sure there's a 4 pin one on my motherboard)

I hope somebody knows the answer, otherwise I'll just use the mini USB thing... thanks!

oh ok I see, thanks! I thought maybe it's for a hub or something, I ended up using the normal USB - but this is good to know *should* it ever break...

So far so good!

I love that the cables are relatively short tbh
