I have a i5 4460,8 gb ram, gtx 750 ti and i want to build a better pc. I wanted a r5 3600 with a 1660 super or a 1070 or 980ti. But recently i found the i5 10600kf, its the same price as the r5 3600 and the cpu looked better than the r5 3600 but i m not sure about it and the intel varient will cost me a bit higher than the amd one. Any recommendations or better cpu?

(sorry for my poor english)

These days, it's a personal choice, it's like Ferrari or Lamborghini. Both will get you there in spades, just a matter of brand preference.

The 10600kf can be slightly better, but will also draw slightly more power, being an Intel chip (how the turntables...).

They are rated for 125W TDP but will draw more when cooled properly. The Ryzen 5 3600 is rated for 65W and upon full load, will stay there.

The R5 3600 has gone up in price due to demand, but for gaming, they are within a few % of eachother.

Well, account the cost of a motherboard and Cooler

Intel
10600kf - 200
decent Z490 board - 150 (wouldnt recommend b460 due to the limited ram speed and, you cant oc)
Hyper 212 - 30
Total - 350 - 380

AMD
R5 3600 - 200
Decent B550/B450 board - 70 - 100
Total - 270 - 300

AMD is alot cheaper overall.

geometry is hard
b550 > x570

This is terrible device.

1) You should not have brand preference.

2) It's not "personal choice". CPUs are something we can measure very objectively and don't have to involve a bunch of subjective stuff into.

OP, you are most likely better off with the AMD system. Performance wise they are neck and neck. The AMD one wins slightly in some tests, and the Intel one wins slightly in some tests.

1) AMD motherboards typically have better bang for your bucks.

2) You get a decent stock cooler with the AMD CPU, which saves you money.

3) The AMD chip produces less heat and uses less power.

Unless you're getting some great deal on a motherboard and/or cooler, you have no reason to go with the Intel chip.

I would personally say AMD I haven't really had an Intel system in a long time last time was a Pentium 4 but I was very young at that point but I would say AMD but I don't really know gaming performance on Intel I do much appreciate that lowers Ram speeds go on Intel with requiring very high ram and very high prices I do Appreciate amd's Simplicity with motherboards so amd at this point
