Is it safe to move my GPU to 16x?

I've been told if I move my gpu I would have issues with heat since it would be next to my cooler, is this true? I'm also planning to move the soundcard to the bottom slot. I would just like to hear more opinions on this since I really want it to be in the 16x slot.

Yup!

 

Currently it's not inside a case cause I was doing some troubleshooting and testing, but usually it's inside a Jonsbo UMX4 and both the GPU and CPU do just fine.

I have a 750d airflow edition case, is that a high airflow case?
