Hello,

I want to buy a new Gaming PC and now I ask you whether the following PC is good (for gaming and maybe youtube) or not.

Mainboard: ASRock H87 Pro4 1150

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1230v3

CPU-cooler: Alpenföhn Sella

RAM: 8GB-Kit Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 CL9

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200 1000GB

SSD: Crucial M599 240GB

Graphics Card: Saphire R9 280x OC Full Retail 3GB

Chase: Cooltek Antiphon Black

Power Supply: be quiet! STRAIGHT POWER E9-500W

If you have suggestions for improvement it has to be cheaper!

Cheaper than i7 and the same as i5's. He won't be ocing on the H87 chipset anyways so why not?

It's just such a strange option to me, a server use CPU for just straight up gaming. It's just one of those things that boggle my mind.

O sorry. :)

My budget is around 1100€ (+/- 20€). The shop is hardwareversand.de. As i mentioned earlier I'm a german guy an the shop is also german. :)

Are you limited to hardwareversand or are you open to other German shops?

It shouldn't be, it's actually a very good option. You essentially get i7 performance on a i5 price tag. If you already plan to get a GPU it is a very solid choice of a CPU

Main Rig CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700x GPU: Asus TUF Gaming RTX 3080 OC MBASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus RAM: 64GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 3200 CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Master Liquid LC240E SSD: Crucial 250gb M.2 + Crucial 500gb SSD + 4TB Crucial SSD HDD:None PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower Gran RGB 850W 80+ Gold Case: Corsair Carbide 275R KB: Glorious GMMK 85% MOUSE: Razer Naga Trinity HEADSET: Go XLR with Shure SM7B mic and beyerdynamic DT 990

unRAID Plex Server CPU: Intel i7 6700 GPU: Nvidia Quadro P2000 MB: Asus B150M-C RAM: Crucial Ballistix 32gb DDR4 3000MT/s CPU Cooler: Stock Intel SSD: Western Digital 500GB Red HDD: 4TB Seagate Baracude 3x 4TB Seagate Ironwolf PSU: EVGA BT 80+ Bronze 450W Case: Cooler Master HAF XB EVO KB: Cheap Logitech KB + Mouse combo

I took the intel xeon because a good friend who works for intel recommended this one and i trusted him. Thank you all for your help. I am open for other Shops too, for example Mindfactory.

No point in getting hyperthreading for gaming though.

Could be cheaper: http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/3etIh

Why get the xeon? Games don't really benefit from HT.

For the gpu,  get whichever is cheaper--they're pretty much neck to neck.

I had this cpu for a short time and i think it's bullshit. In just 3 month it lost a lot of power.

What?

Cpus don't lose power..

sorry, performance is the right word.

Yeah, they don't lose performance.. If something was getting worse, it wouldn't be your cpu.
