For those having stuttering issues in games

Especially in online games, I have recently found that this feature called 'HPET', short for 'high precision event timer' may be the likely culprit. It was the reason why Hitman 3 was stuttering for me, which is a game that is always online. Don't try disabling it in Device Manager or the Bios, it won't do you any good. You'll have to open the command prompt window and type in the following commands in sequential order:

bcdedit /set useplatformclock No

bcdedit /set disabledynamictick Yes

Restart the computer afterwards, and hopefully it will fix the stuttering. It might even increase the framerate.

"high precision hitman on your PC".

😆 Yeah, quite a fitting title for it. It totally fucks the performance sideways, up the wall. And, according to this video, disabling it might even give you a significant amount of FPS in some games.

So apart from High Precision Event Timer explained above, there is also a whole other steaming pile of shit that might be causing your games to stutter. They came with Windows, and the majority of the average home user will likely never need any of this garbage listed below. I call it my purge list. Obviously, they hog up a significant amount of resources considering my entire computer runs a ton faster since I disabled it. My games haven't stuttered ever since and my programs load up even faster. The only feature one might need on this list is things like 'File History' if backing up files, or Bitlocker if encrypting files. There really isn't much use to the rest of this bloatware for the average user. You can find all this by simply typing in "services" in the windows search bar.

Alljoyn Router Service
Application Layer Gateway
AVCTP Service
Bitlocker
Bluetooth Support Service
Download Maps Manager
File History Service
Geolocation Service
