PC Cleaning Tips/Software

So I recently started to run out of space on both my C and D drives, and in the process of deleting unused programs, I noticed a lot of files that seemed like junk (temp files, program installers, etc.) taking up a good amount of space. I was wondering what your best tips to deal with junk in on your pc, or any free software you would recommend. I can't find any good ones as they all seem to have mixed reviews especially in terms of background usage.

ccleaner is what ive always used.

I've been using CCleaner for the past 12 years and it's never really let me down. Paired with the stock Windows disk cleanup tool for some of the odds and ends it doesn't catch, it's been perfect.

i often just reinstall the entire OS occasionally, gets rid of many junks

 

but i understand why one may not want to spend 2h setting everything back up

Sounds like CCleaner may be the best option then! Thanks for the suggestion!

yea but it's one of the cleanest ways to go about it, rids of all junk file you dont need (or more specifically, you only put what you need back in)

Windows has a Disk Cleaner inbuilt. Go to "My Computer/This PC" and rightclick C:\ and select "Properties" and the Disk Cleanup is on the First TAB (General)
It's also worth going into C:\Users\ProfileName\Appdata\Temp and emptying that folder (some files may be in use, skip those)
