Hey guys I havent ripped a DVD in like a decade but I wanna take my TV seasons and put them on my harddrive so I can use my plex server instead of using the physical discs. What are people using to do that now, and I assume x265? Also they are all DVD, not bluray incase that matters.

There is libdvdcss2 that breaks the encryption on disks and lets you rip them.

Depends what your end devices support playing. Its better to have your media in a natively supported format than transcode.
