What are the odds of a good DP 1.4 to HDMI adapter coming out? (RTX hugbox thread)

The story for many a tech enthusiast

I built a new PC with a 20 series card and I don't feel like spending an arm and a leg on a 30 series card. My performance is fine. But like many people I'm looking to upgrade my TV. TVs don't have DP 1.4 and my GPU doesn't have HDMI 2.1. What are we to do?

 

The only adapter I can find has middling reviews and no VRR which for the amount of money this all costs is kind of unacceptable. Is there a chance for an adapter that can get us all the fancy and good color at 4k 120hz with VRR? Or are we screwed?

Club3d usually make pretty much the best adapters that support most of the features, so if they can't do it it's unlikely that'll come anytime soon.
