Hey guys! I’ve been using a chrome book for over 5 years probably at this point. It’s still fairly fast and responsive and for just very basic things I can make it work. Recently though I’ve been limited as to what I’m able to do and I’m getting tired of google searching for hours the workarounds. It’s finally time to get back to windows. I have a gaming desktop so I don’t really need anything for gaming. I’m just looking for a cheap, reliable, bang-for-the-buck laptop that I won’t need to upgrade for a while. I’m fairly tech literate but I haven’t kept up with all the new stuff that’s been coming out the last couple years. I don’t really wanna spend more than $200-$300. Thanks everyone in advance!

I really don't think you're going to find anything new for that price. That's more in line with what you'd pay for a Chromebook. Dell makes some laptops slightly north of $300, but you're looking at something with pretty limited cores, and a 720p screen.

With a budget like that, I'd probably look into a used Lenovo. Then upgrade the RAM, and perhaps SSD size if required.

For new, you're really looking at around $550 to get something decent.
