"Upside Down/ Backwards" PCIe Slots?

My friend has an Asus H110-Plus Motherboard in his prebuilt system. He is trying to install a wifi card however it wont work since the gap in the pcie on the lower 3 full size slots is off to the right side instead of the left on the upper full size slot and 2 mini slots.

Yes he tried using the mini slots but they are both blocked by the graphics card.

Just curious if anyone know why these pcie slots are "backwards" or what the use purpose is for them since most pcie cards wont be able to be used with them.

See attachment for reference

Those are PCI slots.

Not PCIe slots.

To put a WiFi card in those, he will need a PCI WiFi card.

To think it was that simple, thanks! Never considered that possibility
