CPU Cooler for Gigabyte Aorus Pro V2

Zerebratox

Hi Guys,

i tried to build my new PC today and realized that the cooler i bought is way too big for the Motherboard.

I bought an Alpenföhn Brocken 3. While installing i saw that there is little to no space between the cooler and the GPU (3060ti FE). I'm not sure if that is a good idea to have maybe 0.5 - 1 centimeter space between them.

I think the PCIE Slot is higher than on normal atx boards, could that be? Or is it really the cooler which does cause the problem?

Do you have any ideas which cooler would be sufficient for a Ryzen 5 5600x (without wanting to oc) but still keeping it cool? I looked at the Noctua NH-U14S, which should be a little bit smaller (2 centimeter or so) i think?

Best Regards
Felix

NH-U14S is widely regarded as one of the best smaller air coolers you can buy. If you didn't say it yourself, I'm sure the majority of people on this forum would have said it as well. Go with that

My profile picure is real. That's what I look like in real life. I'm actually a blue and white African Wild Dog.

Is it sufficient for the CPU, even with only 1 fan attached?

You aren't OCing. Even the stock cooler would do just fine. The Noctua U14S will be overkill.

No. The location of the PCIe slots is standardized.

It's designed to be this way, so it's probably fine. It might pick up some more heat from the GPU, but that always happens anyway.

So i could also stay with the Alpenföhn cooler (which is an actual overkill at this point, as you mentioned) and ignore the fact that there is about 0.5 -1 cm space between gpu and cooler?
