Hi, I've recently built my own pc for the first time. I've:
Mother: Aorus Z490 Elite
Case: Redragon Tailgate
Cooler: Cooler Master MA610P
Processor: I7 10700K.
Power Supply: Thermaltake 700w 80 plus
I'm using NZXT to check temperatures and i'm reaching the 80ºc (170f) - 90ºc(194f) when at full speed (i've used Y-cruncher to test my cpu) Is it normal?... Its summer where i live (around 30º) I don't know if it makes a difference or not.

That's hot. But you have a case that suffocates airflow, and I imagine the cooler isn't going to be great for an Intel 8 core. Take your front panel off and/or side panel and see if temps improve.

No, it's bad. Especially 90c.

Temps are not great, but considering the cooler, case, and ambient temps (yes that matters), this seems normal.

If you want to improve temps without changing hardware consider a CPU under-volt. Otherwise get a better CPU cooler, maybe more case fans with a positive airflow setup.

Thanks for the help. I remove both panels and temperatures are the same, if i turn on my Air conditioning i've got 10º less. Sorry for my ignorace but what is cpu under volt and how can i change it?

One thing i forgot to mention that is probably important: when i was placing the cooler i applied thermal paste, put the screws and i had to remove it for a few minutes (10 i think), and then i put the cooler back (without touching the paste)... maybe i should have cleaned it and applied it again?

Again thanks for helping me! (sorry if my english isn't the best)

Interesting, perhaps bad cooler mount? I wouldn't expect the cooler itself to perform poorly. You do have a high(er) ambient temp to work with though.

Undervolting is lowering the voltage your CPU runs at (changed in the BIOS) to lower the temperature. Lower it too much and your CPU becomes unstable, so you'll have to play around with it to see how far you can lower it but maintain stability. (Take note of the original voltage, benchmark any changes made)

Contrary to popular belief on tech forums, no you don't, the mounting pressure from the cooler will spread the paste just fine. Only question is if you used enough thermal paste and mounted the cooler correctly.

Your English is fine!

I took a screenshot... I had a friend helping me the whole process, so i have a loooooot of screenshots 😆

Edit: Temperatures when idle are between 35 - 40... While playing Battlefront 2 50 - 60 (70 - 80 only on loading) (1080p / high settings) (the only game i played since i build it, since my video card is still the old one)

-snips-

Those temps aren't terrible, you should look at what the most stressing thing is that your computer will actually do too. Though, I'd probably put some more paste on there since I'm not sure that would be enough to fully cover the IHS. If you pull the cooler off you'll see how much it's covered and if it needs more.

A CPU undervolt is when you lower the voltage going to your CPU. At default settings, most Intel CPUs on most motherboards will have the CPU voltage set too high. A CPU can run reliably with less voltage. As you lower the voltage, you have to test your computer to make sure it is still stable. You do not want to go too low with the voltage or your computer will show a blue screen and will reboot. If you go into the BIOS and reduce the voltage, you can drop your temperatures significantly.

Here is an example of a 10850K.

Your CPU temperature right now is normal. You have an 8 core CPU and an air cooler and your room temperature is hot. Your thermal paste is probably OK.

Edit - I just saw in the screenshot that you have a Gigabyte board. Many of their Z490 boards are using too much voltage at default settings. See if HWiNFO shows your CPU VCore voltage correctly. Put a load on your CPU.

One thing you should consider is; Intel suggests that you use an air cooler that pushes air down towards the CPU and MB.

The cooler you are using only cools the CPU and neglects the voltage regulators that feed the CPU.

An example of a proper cooler based on Intel's TAC 2.0 spec. would be the Noctua NH-L9x65

So following all yours tips i manage to go down from 80 to 70º 😀... I would like to turn down those VCore voltages if possible. I know that CPU Vcore is probably what i should change, but i wanted to know (and show) if there is something else i should change.

Thank you so much, really
