What exactly do I need for my hyper 212?- Double checking the backplate

Helpful Tech Witch

I just got a used H212, and It didnt come with eh backplate. Thats fine, BUT, I dont have one for my mobo. I have the stock intel cooler right now, which is a pushpin cooler.

Would a backplate like this work? (link)

Or would I need a different one?

(I need it to be as cheep as possible and on amazon only bc I have a 5$ giftcard to amazon)

EDIT: Holy crap I forgot, Im on a 7th gen lga 1151 platform

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

Well, I have a spare LGA115x backplate that's not doing anything.

If you live nearby/are willing to pay shipping, I'll ship it to you if you want it.

To try and answer the question:
I'm pretty sure it would work.

The H212 backplate would probably be more metal and less plastic.

Where did you get this from where it didn't come with a backplate? It more than certainly should right out of the box.

I live in central USA, but I have a 5$ amazon gift card, so id prefer to just get one off of there.

Ah, that makes sense. Was too transfixed on seeing H212 instead of hyper 212 lol

Cooler master can send you a bracket. Because it's used you'll have to contact support- but they should be able to get it to you inexpensively, if not free

Ah.

It should work.
I don't know for certain (the only LGA115x things I own are a Dell Optiplex board + backplate + cooler) but I can't think of anything that the 212 would turn proprietary.
