File sharing credentials

Im trying to connect to my windows to transfer files from my android, and it asks me for some kind of password and username, I've disabled password protection in advanced sharing settings, I've removed my Microsoft account and my pc password what is this then?

You did all that for nothing, all you had to do was add "Anonymous logon" permission to folder that you wanted to share. You cannot have SMB shares without password protection unless you do that, once you do that click on Anonymous Login in that window.

You can not connect to a network share without a password. It is considered a security risk. Setup a password

Instead of doing all that and waste time, you should have setup a password and do it the right way how it is supposed to be,

How are you logging onto your PC if you removed your Microsoft account?

You don't need the Microsoft account to login. That is created during installing windows if it detects internet.

 

You login the default way with an account on the local PC. No need for the stupid MS Account.

I didn't do anything, i just don't have a password for my user, i never had

smb needs a password, add a password to your account, or make an account with a password, or setup guest/anomyous access(probably easier here)

I added a password for my local user account, and it still says connection failed

what username did you use? Can you show a screenshot?

 

Sometimes you need to setup the domain correctly aswell to the hostname of the system.

Here, i used my local pc username and it's password (the one that i just set) and it says connection failed(btw anonymous login says connection failed too)

Are you sure thats your username? Normally the username doesn't have spaces and there is a seperate first and last name that is shown many places in the os.

That isn't your username in windows, thats your first and last name you gave it. You can find the username by running whoami in cmd.

 

Is this a microsoft account, I know those can be pickty with sharing, id setup a local account if it isn't
