So my pc won't post after I upgraded my pc (mobo, cpu, ram, psu). The motherboard I have has an indicator light that tells you what hardware the problem is connected to. At first it was orange for a second then red, implying that my cpu is the problem, but after reseting it a few times it still says that the cpu is the problem. I tried turning on the pc without ram to check if the cpu indicator light would stay on, but now the cpu indicator light stays off and only the ram indicator light is on (obviously because had removed the ram sticks) please help literally online class in 2 hours

CPU: Ryzen 3800X

Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming x570 plus wifi

Ram: TForce Delta TUF gaming

Gpu: gtx 1080 zotac

Try with the ram stick in the left grey slot (A2)

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

I did that and one time it shows that its still a cpu problem, another time it's a ram problem

Have you cleared CMOS in all this? Try clearing CMOS and trying with the ram just in slot A2. There's a chance that the motherboard isn't recognizing the proper configuration and is trying to use a bad one.

Also, just to make sure, you have the upper CPU power pin connected? The 8 pin in the top left of the motherboard.

EDIT:

I was wrong in assuming you wanted second from the left. Seems ASUS wants far right DIMM like you have in the pictures. Try clearing CMOS and turning the pc on with the ram stick in the far right slot.

I think I'm having nearly the same exact issue. I just replaced my mobo and cpu and have been smashing the DEL key and troubleshooting for close to an hour (turning off and on, unplugging and plugging in), but nothing can get me past this display. However, I've only ever had this orange light. The Bios was making a short startup beep, which according to the user's manual means:

VGA detected

Quick boot set to disabled

No keyboard detected

Bios is no longer beeping.

New setup:

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X

Cooler: AMD stock fan

Mobo: Asus TUF X570-Plus

RAM: Ballistix Sport DDR4-2400 4x4GB

GPU: Radeon RX 5700

OS: Windows 10 64-bit

PSU: Corsair 750W 80+ Gold Semi-Modular

SSD: Samsung 860 QVO 1tb 2.5" SATA
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 4tb

Monitor: Viotek GNV32DB

Alright, so I think my issue has a solution, not sure about SQre. Apparently my CPU has a higher BIOS version than my MOBO, so I have to update my BIOS. At least, that's what the Asus customer service told me.

CPU won't have BIOS. What ASUS meant is that your motherboard more than likely didn't come from the factory with a bios that supports 5xxx CPUs.

How long did you let it sit trying to start up? AMD seems like it can take a little bit on my first post. I haven't updated my signature, but with my 5800x and 6800xt build it felt like I waited forever for the first post. A couple minutes at most

i'm positive that the ram stick is far down, although my ram sticks seems to not be able to make the clips to go back fully, they need a bit of push to lock in, is that normal?

yes you need to push them down on each end of the stick so that the clips lock

hey sorry for the late reply, i left it for 5 minutes usually and it never posted.

sadly after researching more about the problem i have i came to the conclusion that the only way to fix it is to replace the motherboard

apparently this is a BIOS problem that's not too common on AM4 boards but has happened before and has a way to fix it which needs a bit of luck.

the problem comes from a BIOS update that maybe change your CPU's VCore settings to a bit higher volt than the old one, at least that's what i got after watching Jayztwocent's video here (although he somehow managed to actually get to the BIOS):

There is a video of a guy that succesfully fixed his sons computer that has the same problem and he explicitly said that things went bad after he changed a few settings. He did tried clearing the CMOS but it didn't work. After a few tries the PC just randomly decide to boot and he's not sure what he did to fixed it. I couldn't find the video again but that's basically what happened.

So if you have a the same problem try reseating everything and resetting the CMOS a bunch of times, and if that doesn't work check with the manufacturer to see if they would be able to replace it (i myself will not be doing this because of the bad customer service in where i live)

I still can't believe i spent money and a week messing up my sleep schedule trying to fix my PC instead of enjoying the last week of school break and come up with no real fix to this

anyway thanks for the help, maybe someone will find a way to fix this issue but this it for my PC

RIP PC

When watching JaysTwoCents videos, never forget that he once drilled a hole in a motherboard and then was surprised when it stopped working.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.
