Little back info. I do not own a PC and have never owned a PC for gaming I’ve only been a console gamer. I just wanna know if Redux computers are a good place to start. I want a computer that I can upgrade at some point and I know that many big box companies are proprietary but Redux seems like over the counter products. I am not ready to build a computer from scratch and this company seems like a good place to start.
thank you

-> Moved to Laptops and Pre-Built Systems

Well, your question by itself is really vague. Are you looking for gaming PC, desktop PC in general or what? Redux is like other builder services, NZXT BLD and OriginPC for example, plus some other boutique shops. And you can buy similar service on some PC hardware stores (for example MemoryExpress in Canada).

Given the price difference between Redux and NZXT, Origin I wouldn’t put them in the same category. I’m basically asking if going through a company like Redux who uses off the shelf parts are a good deal for people like myself who know zero about PC building. I do hope to update certain parts as I learn but I’m not at the point of building one from scratch yet. I could probably wing it but wife isn’t ready just yet lol.

I would because of the way their configurator works. It's pretty much same with NZXT BLD, maybe others. They also had imo bit odd choice of parts, and something I could compare with PCPP.

Any pre-built would be, be it something where it's pre-configured or where you pick the parts and pay someone to build it.

I personally would prefer to use local store as RMA and shipping is real annoyance. But if that's not option, then going for service like this is fine.

I really can't tell if it's good buy or not until I know your use case. Their lowest price point is $800 with i3 and aftermarket cooler, which is something I wouldn't do. Or if I would, I would pick better cooler than 212 RGB.
