Has anyone noticed any issues with xbox and the most recent update?

Aight, so a week ago, I was watchin some  youtube, and all of the sudden, my brand new series X xbox controller (used on xbox one) froze, and the console took no input, but the light was still on. I took out the batteries, and viola! they worked again. Now fast forward to yesterday, my friend has 4 xbox controllers (all the ones with bluetooth and came with one x's and s'). He would turn on the console, then pair the controller, only for the controller to turn itself off again (no matter if we had it paired before power on or not). The xbox stayed on, but the controllers flashed once and turned off. I know there was a recent update to them, just wondering if anyone else had these problems. We fixed the 4 xbox controllers by unplugging the xbox and plugging it back in again. My series x xbox controller hasn't done it since
