Solo ETH mining question

so i've been mining for like 5 years now mostly BTC but off and on with ETH. for the last year i've been pool mining my eth on ethermine.org and its great but i wanna to try my hand at the lotto so i'm dedicating one of my rigs to mine solo so now i have 55mh/s rolling solo and i want to know is there a way to see how close i was to finding a block?

Like on my solo BTC lottery rig i can look up either on the miner or on the website it shows a "best share" and that is what my closest was. I KNOW, I KNOW my next share has the same odds as my first share of finding a block but it's just a general curiosity thing.

for the uninitiated to find a block a successful share has to be at or above the difficulty meaning the current BTC diff is 20,607,418,304,385 and my best share is 14,210,697,630,907 so if the current diff was 14T at the time i submitted that share id of gotten the whole block.

Its called the lotto because when you're only sending a small amount of hash to a solo server its a "may the odds be ever in your favor" situation. vs large farms that have like 10ph/s+ of power they solo mine with and they can find several blocks every day vs me with 110th/s the odds are about 26 years to find a block. But i found a block once with only 13th/s once however, the server was unreliable and just happened to be doing something like a save and the exact second i found a block is when it did that and it overloaded it and i didnt get my 12.5 BTC :( were on a new server now and it's more than well equipped for the small amount of resources we need it for.

 

I digress this is about solo ETH and the odds are about 2.5 years to find a block with my hash rate. i use phoenix miner if that matters.

People do this with USB bitcoin ASIC miners. They are super low power and cheap so you can buy like 64 of them and just lotto them all. Outside of that I doubt you will ever get a block

did you even read what i said? i am mining btc with several ASIC and i'm mining eth with a solid GPU, your response had absolutely NOTHING to do with the question i started this thread for.

I want to know if there is a way to see what my best share is on my ETH miner. Like it says share found 579GH or share found 1128MH is that a measure of difficulty, and if so WTF does it mean?

That is the amount of computation power went into finding it. So for example if you assume each miner has 100MHs then the second share would have equaled about 11 people.
