System doesn't boot

Hi I've just built my new pc it's got a 3800x b550 tomahawk 16gb of ddr4 lpx 3200mhz and a 1080ti when I turn the system on the peripherals all light up but no image on the monitor and the ez debug led is stuck boot

Does the mobo's BIOS support your CPU out of the box, or does it need an updated BIOS to POST?

Probably not but I've noway updating the bios I was hoping b550 would support 3rd gen

Yes I do believe it is a bios issue but I've no way of checking or of fixing it so ima try some other things

ok umm check with a friend that has a 2nd gen ryzen and do a bios update

I would do that if we weren't currently in the middle of a pandemic and not allowed to leave our houses

Some mobos allow you to flash the BIOS without having the CPU installed.

And how would that make a difference from having the cpu I own installed

What is your BIOS Version?

If the BIOS of the mobo is too old to support your CPU, then inserting the CPU into the mobo will not allow it to POST. So by removing the CPU, someone mobos recognize this issue and allow you to update the BIOS without having the CPU installed, which is very handy. I dunno if yours allows this, but your mobo manual will tell you.

How would I update the bios even if it let me into it if I don't have anyone of downloading a new bios

Well then you'd have to borrow another PC to download the BIOS to a flash stick, but if what @Living says is accurate, your mobo natively supports your CPU, so that may not be the issue.

B550 was released after Ryzen 3000...

Why would B550 not support it?
