Server for Minecraft and discord bot hosting. under 500$.

Go to solution Solved by jj9987,

eBay and Craigslist. Dell and HP servers are very widely liked by homelab folks on that side of the pond, though you need to watch out - some of the models are very loud and power hungry. /r/homelab is a good source for information.

Uptime is as much as you can maintain, generally the hardware is reliable.

Budget (500$):

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Hosting Minecraft servers for a group of friends (there could be up to 15 of us.) and a Discord bot hosting. up time should be 24/7

Other details: I want to get my self a server (preferred to be rack mountable) for Minecraft and discord bot hosting. I'm fine with buying old and refurbished hardware but I don't really know any thing about hardware for servers so I hope that someone could help me here thanks in advanced.

Get a cheap used office pc with 4 cores i3 or i5. No need to use servers.

Or order something like this on Aliexpress:
