SteamOS and Surface PRO 2

Sounds like a good idea, but remember, the surface pro is optimized for windows 8, so it might have troubles with performance in steam OS and possibly graphical issues.

I am not sure SteamOs supports touch, its not a good idea either way.

Surface Pro 2 is a locked down piece of hardware. 

Apparently it does signature checks on the OS making SteamOS no bueno.

That sucks Hardware wise it would be an awesome piece of hardware.

Not directly, but most touch interfaces are supported by Linux with the appropriate drivers, easily installed from Debian repositories.
