30 series back order/queue waiting time.

So I was about to backorder a 3060 ti on the evga website and I was wondering if any of you have ever done it and about how long it did take to get a notification for the gpu.  I've read that some have put their name in a 3080 queue (don't know where tho) for more than 3 months and are still waiting for their card.  Is it the "normal" waiting time or can I expect something better by doing so on the evga website directly ?

been on list for about 3 weeks for a 3090 as well as a PSU, but nothing as of yet, I've also heard of some that have been waiting longer, unfortunately no way to track how long we'll be waiting. Everything is kind of up in the air with everything going on in the world currently, especially with covid slowing everything down to a crawl (manufacturing, production, shipping, all of it is slowed down so it just compounds upon itself)

I bought one end of October. Prepaied full amount. (Asus model)

It shipped just now. I am located in the EU.

Stock is still pretty horrible preorders are still in the 100s for most of the models.

And the non OC versions are barely moving. I have seen the preorders for the Asus Tuf non OC to still be over 1.000

There are several methods for getting a GPU more quickly, but if you really want one fast, you need to sit on a website and hit F5 until a drop happens... and then get lucky.

I know people that have been looking for a 3080 for 3 months and still haven't gotten one. Demand is super high, and stock just hasn't been able to keep up. The only way I got one was literally stayed on a forum for 2 weeks straight keeping track of where and when items dropped until I finally got lucky and snagged one. You have to be willing to put in some serious dedication if you want one outside of signing up for a queue, because trust me... those queues are MASSIVE right now.

I'm really not in a hurry to get one ... if anyting I'll just get in a queue and wait for it ... maybe I'll just drop the idea completely and just wait for the 4000 series

I signed up for notifications on launch for the RTX 3080 and got notified on 11-12.  So 56 days...

Most cards run on a 2+ year cycle, so if you want to wait for 4000 you are in for a wait unless you think inventory gets better within the next 6 months or you are waiting for Ti/Super variants

Well as of now the queue for the 3060 ti muct be quite long and I don't axpect to get one in the next 6 months, maybe even longer ... My best bet would probably wait for the 3060 12gb and enter the queue for that one on the release day and hope to have less than 3 months of wait ... I should probably enter queue for more than one model of card too.
