Hi all.

My father has a pretty wide house and has purchased an 8 camera (poe) surveillance system. The nvr box will sit centrally with four cameras on the one side of the house and four on the other. It's going to be difficult to wire in, and would be much easier if we could group each side of the house into four cameras joining then by a single cable to the nvr. However the nvr has a connection for each camera, so I fear joining four of the cameras into a single hub would ruin the signal from each camera. Is there a way to achieve a 4-1-4 connection so as to save the need to wire some serious amount of cable? Many thanks for your help!

IF... and this is the big IF... your systems are not designed to be proprietary to the NVR (which quite a few of the sub-$800 systems are) you can put a standard (but not cheap) POE switch at either end of the house and run a single cable from the switch to the NVR. There are LOTS of cheap POE switches and i will say being COMPLETELY  experienced in this area that they are all total shit. Do NOT waste your money on a cheapo POE switch.

Hi, thank you for your replies.

This is the system - https://reolink.com/product/rlk16-410b8/

Do you have a recommendation for a good poe? I presume it will need to be a 5 port one either end (so 4x switches) for this to work?

I suppose I thought the theory would be possible, but wasn't sure how best to achieve it even researching it.

Thanks again for your help!
