Question about PS4 pro upscaling.

DubbleD

Hey there! Hope you are doing good.

I got a PS4 Pro as a gift a while ago. And I was thinking does the ps4 pro realy support 4k or does it always use upscaling?  Like in RDR2, AC: valhalla etc

Would like to know that.

Thank you!

Can it output 4K? Yes

Can it render 4K? Not really. Not at 30fps at least.

The PS5 can't even render anything at 4K, GN posted a video yesterday that deduces down that a PS5 is equivalent to about a 4-5yr old midrange gaming PC running something like a GTX 1060 or 1070

Not really a conclusive comparison, is it?

How is it not conclusive? It answered your question. Does it output 4K? Yes. But does it actually render 4K? No.
