GTA 5 gameplay request! (Info)

Wellyes

Hello!

I built my PC about 6 months ago, and it is great! However, there seems to be a difference between my games and my friends, even though we have similar specs (except for him having a 1050p monitor). The difference i am talking about is that pn my screen (1080p) there are an excessive amount of jagged and shimmering lines compared to his. Even though we have the same settings.

This is some gameplay i recorded to try and capture the issue:

GTA 5 jaggies/shimmering

Again, what bothers me is that for some reason, my friends pc does not seem to have this issue, and so i need your help to get some more footage of the game (native 1080p preferably) to figure out whether its just in my head or whether there is a difference for some reason. The footage im asking for is just to mimic the location and settings in the video i linked.

Thank you for all your help!

Specs:

Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16GB

Cooler: Noctua NH-D15S

PSU: Corsair TX550M

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600

GPU: RX 580

Motherboard: B450 AORUS M

Monitor: ASUS VG249Q 1080p, 144hz

Yeah i dont get it either! However, appearantly it doesnt look like that on all PCs. That really bothers me, because we spend so much of our money and time to build something we can be proud of, and then it just doesnt look like the quality its supposed to have!

Also, why does my friend, who has similar specs to me and an even smaller resolution, not have any noticable issues with this???

Well, since i don't know WHAT causes this problem i can't really answer WHY your friend with similar specs but different monitor DOESN'T get this issue. It may be corrupt files of the game or driver problems.I have researched a bit about this problem and appereantly enabling Anti-Aliasing: FXAA in nvidia control panel fixes the issue for some people and try to enable MSAA in game like to 4x so you don't lose a lot of FPS with 8x.If it still does then your guess to why it happens can be as good as mine. But to be honest since i get the same problem as you do i really don't understand why it happens.

it can be because of the "frame rendering" settings. try to reset to default settings. that helped for me.

If you decide to research this issue, its an absolute rabbithole. The most reported ”fix” for the issue is to move house and build a new pc there lmao. No idea what causes this.

I have an AMD rx 580, but ill check my settings and try to tweak some things there.

Also, i dont know if its worth mentioning, but the exact same thing happened on my consoles. For instance my ps3, for some reason it was just noticibly worse at anti aliasing, and the graphics were really bad. Again, i compared that to my friends aswell, and he was also clueless.

I think i saw like 50 posts about people having this exact thing so i might just say that it might be the game itself having some problems when it comes to the RAGE Engine that it's using cause i can't think of any other thing really.

Yeah if you go to ADVANCED SETTINGS ingame you should see like frame scaling or frame rendering and try to reset those or increase them.  (WARNING: if you increase them the game MIGHT look better but it's gonna put more force on to your GPU causing you to lose a couple frames, and BTW don't decrease the frame scailing if you don't want your game to look like a fucking baked potato.)

Lmaoo yeah, potato quality for sure. But frame scaling x2.5 + msaa x4 or x8 seems to work well! However, its just the fact that i gotta push my computer so much to get graphics that other pcs get with little effort
