So i have literally never had an air cooled GPU and the only reason i do right now is i RMA'd my MB and am using an old backup and i didnt want to redo all my tubing bends so i reinstalled my stock GPU cooler and am rolling with it till my MB gets back from MSI.

The concern i have is when i use the radion software to control the fans it reverts to factory settings like 5 min after i set the fan curve. and when i use afterburner it sets the curve but the GPU doesn't seem to give a shit the thing will say 44% but the fan isn't spinning.

when its idle or not being used much the fans kick off and i don't like that, i want some constant cooling going on but can't seem to get it to work. When i put it under a heavy load the fans ramp up but not as fast as i would like and it seems warmer than i'd like.

the GPU is an Asus ROG RX 5700XT

Have you updated your driver? I had the same issue a few versions back but the lastest last couple seems to have solved it, try a clean install ddu before hand

Ryzen 5800X3D(Because who doesn't like a phat stack of cache?) GPU - 7700Xt

                                                           X470 Strix f gaming, 32GB Corsair vengeance, WD Blue 500GB NVME-WD Blue2TB HDD, 700watts EVGA Br

~Extra L3 cache is exciting, every time you load up a new game or program you never know what your going to get, will it perform like a 5700x or are we beating the 14900k today? 😅~
