mouse pad materials

So I have a pretty unique situation where my palm starts to break out when I use cloth mouse pads, I believe it's maybe the material they are made out of, it hasn't always done this but trial and error over past 2 years has made the believe it was the mouse pad that was causing it. Since I have even tried using a smaller mouse pad but I am so used to using my mouse in a large area and i always drag it off the pad so that's not an option, I have tried using a thin glove on my right hand so my skin doesn't touch the cloth on the mousepad (works but it pretty annoying) and ultimately stopped using a cloth mouse pad and just use my desk to use my mouse on. I don't really like the hard surface and I've been trying to look for alternatives but I don't really know what to search for or who to contact and where else to start searching for such a thing, if anyone has any ideas or tips please let me know!

I use this as my travel mouse pad when I'm working on location, it's got a plastic top on it, works great, easy to clean. Maybe not this one specifically, but if there's a larger one, I say go for that.

Have you tried glass or hard plastic pads?

I dont know of any non cloth/fabric soft pads though.

 

The only pad i know of that isnt cloth/fabric on the surface is the Artisan Pad Shindenkai, which is glass beads weaved into a cloth pad. Its expensive and not durable though.
