5500XT 8GB is fine if you can find one at MSRP, 5600XT would be noticeably better, they go around $300-$350.

1660 Super or Ti a good card too, 6GB VRAM is fine for 1080, the 5600XT is faster though for the same price.

Does it have to be a brand new GPU? If used, I would definitely go for a GTX 1060 6GB. I run games like RDR2 on high with 43-55 fps on 1080p, and that's one of the most demanding games around.

If new, go for an RX580 or GTX 1660.

Budget Gamer at heart.

Dose it matter on 4gb or 8gb for performance at 1080p

You will have issues with 4gb, warzone/mw/bo:cw struggle with 4gb unless you lower settings. The 1660 Super is perfect for 1080p because it has 6gb of fast vram
