hello, guys so basically I want to build a new pc that would suit me for the next 3-4 years. I want to play AAA games at 1440p so I'm also gonna buy a new 1440p 144hz monitor. I have a build with a gtx 980 and an i7-4770 with an Asus h81m-k. I might be able to sell the GPU for around $150 and the CPU + mobo for around $173 and a Lenovo thinkvision t22i-10 1080p 60hz monitor for around $110. I also got an Xbox 360 with would be around $106. (I'm not sure if I can sell these parts for even higher but that's what I kinda predict from looking at my local marketplace). if I'm not mistaken, all these parts would make me around $645 and I will be investing this money into buying the new monitor.

now the problem is I came up with a pc build and asked people if it would reliable in like 3-4 more years and people recommended me some things to change. I came up with the following build:

i5 10400f
rtx 3060 ti
corsair cv 650w 80+ bronze PSU
lpx16GB 3200mhz (2*8)
gammemax gaming revolt or game max diamond white pc case
mag tomahawk b460(so that I might get an i9-10900k when it drops in price. Idk if it's the right move or not)
Samsung 970 Evo 1TB SSD

some people suggested I buy a b450 and go AMD but the prices are really ridiculous rn and I don't think they will drop. any recommendations guys? I really don't know which route to take. the r5 5600x is kinda out of my price range plus the performance difference is kinda small)

Your going to need more horsepower for 1440p 144Hz triple A gaming for right now and the years to come. Sounds like you budget is low so you should shoot for 1080p 144Hz gaming.

Get a better power supply, at least a 80+gold

I'd drop the i5 cpu, though it'll be okay for now, I'd at least get an i7 or go amd for newer games. A few people claim that the 10th gen intels aren't worth it, as they haven't gotten the software figured out yet and they're really unreliable. Don't know for sure how true that it, but that may change your mind.

If you're trying to save money, get rid of the m.2 ssd and get something a little smaller for now, you can upgrade later when you have the money

I can do 1080p but if there are potential upgrades then I might save up a little more money. any ideas on what could potentially be upgraded?

what could I go with instead of the i5?

I initially was going for a 500gb ssd and a 1tb hdd but folks said that I would be better on with a 1tb ssd and no hdd.

@pcgamerwannabe3Here is something i just threw together for 1080p 144Hz gaming. Later you could swap out the gpu and monitor for 1440p 144Hz gaming when things calm down.
