Asus Tuf 3080 from Newegg wasn't sealed. - need advice

solris

last week i managed to grab one of the 3080s from newegg.ca  As the title says there was no seal on the opening tab, and on top of that it seemed to be ripped a little bit. Testing it is kind of difficult as my current pc isn't up to date and will suffer from some pretty big bottlenecks.  I should be able to just call Newegg and get it replaced, but the fear of the wait scares me.  If anyone has any thoughts or advice please let me know.  Thanks

i would contact Newegg immediately. Let them know the seal to your card was broken - don't forget top mention that it was a 3080 too. I would rather wait another week or two and get a new card with no defects. Also, make sure that you did NOT purchase a refurbished version.

Just test it out. Check for marks on the PCB, dust build-up etc. I am not that anal when it comes to situations like this one. If card works and has no issues along with a valid warranty I'll use it. I might contact the seller and ask for a coupon or few dollars back but I wouldn't be mad if I didn't get any.
