Given that you can custom build your computer with the parts you desire, and custom build a mechanical keyboard, I'm wondering what the experience would be like to build your own high-end custom mouse?

The difficult part is the casing. The switches and sensors can be bought easily and soldered on. You will also need to program the controller but that is far less difficult than the assembly into your own casing. Better to take a good mouse and replace the switches with better ones instead. Maybe if you have a 3d printer you can make one.

Retrofitting an existing mouse is probably easiest. That being said, all parts can be had fairly easily, and 3D models exist for a lot of mouse designs unless you want to design one for yourself.

Would be interesting to see them transplant g305 internals into another wired mouse, its a very popular mod.
