Budget (including currency): ~$600 (pretax)

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Video editing, 4k footage from go pro

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I'm looking to build a small form factor video editing machine for around $600 CAD. I used to follow computer hardware back in the day, 2010s, but these days i dont even know where to start. I already have the peripherals and a copy of windows 10.

I have a 256gb m.2 ssd but i'd also like more storage, maybe a 2tb hdd

12-16gbs of ram seems good right

Graphics cards, im thinking something like a GTX 1050 ti, I dont really play games anymore so this would be specifically for video editing.

I'm from Canada so Newegg.ca and Canadacomputers.com are where i'll probably buy my parts from unless other Canadians have store suggestions.

What programs are you using?

Id go for a 2tb hdd or bigger, it will fill up quickly.

A 1050 or 1650 is a good pick. The gpu power will make most programs much faster.

Get 16gb of ram, 8gb is really cutting in close for editing these days.

yea Id probably aim for a cpu like a 10400 or 3600, depending on what is cheaper.

Get the biggest hdd you can, you will use lots of space.

You want that gpu aswell.
