ugh would of been amazing if AMD had a decent DLSS alternative and good ray tracing!

Their ray-tracing is good, the issue is not all games are yet to support their tech since it needs to be updated for it. DLSS IMHO I would never use in any competitive gave like ever its far to blurry and since it uses AI to predict what is there to fake the native resolution I most say it might do mistakes especially with hair and fast moving objects, but AMD are working on some new tech but if its a DLSS clone or not I am not sure...

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Competitive gaming mostly

Other details chosen a Ryzen 7 5800x as my cpu of choice just wondering if this would be better paired with a 6800 XT or a 3080. Please bare in mind in Australia theres only a $10 difference between the 2 and the 3080 is the more expensive option.

 

I want to game at 1080p with a possible upgrade to 1440p soon but not sure on what gpu to get!

 

is SAM worth going with the 6800XT?

is DLSS worth going with the 3080? (I do sometimes play singleplayer games and would love for them to look great.

 

i currently am running a 240hz Acer Predator XB272

I would say SAM isn't worth it, as there are leaks indicating that SAM is coming to NVIDIA. Also features like shadowplay make the NVIDIA offer better imo.

Yeah i saw that! Apparently AMD is working with Nvidia to get it running. Is performance a lot better with a 3080?

Radeon ReLive is AMDs Shadowplay also SAM is maybe worth it it can be from 4% to 16% improvement...
