Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying the Sennheiser hd 558 but I want to ask, I have a standing fan blowing towards my back and I can still hear it when I have my Corsair vengeance 1300(Closed headphone) on. Do you guys think it will bother me when I use open backed headphones or drown out the music?

The brain subconsciously tunes background noise out when you're focusing on things like footsteps in a game, and when I listen to music I tend to blast it too loud to even hear my ceiling fan.

When you have your headset off, does it bother you?

One more question though, if I get a zalman mic and clip it to my headphones, will it pick up the sound coming out of it?

I have a pair of q701's with a modmic, andnone of the sound isn't picked up by my modmic. And i also have two r9 290's in a define r4 under my desk, I do not notice any sound at all when i play games unless the game is unusually silent or i am playing without sound on :)

If the fan is blowing onto the mic it may very well pick that up however. Depends how much air is pushing past you and onto where the mic end is going to be.

I use my Corsair Vengeance 1300 with its mic frequently and my friends say that they can't hear the fan much and it does not bother them at all.
