I recently installed Unreal Engine on my Mac running Mac OS Big Sur. I had installed xcode and xcode command line tool before on Mac OS Catalina but when I tried to run Unreal Engine for the first time it came up with an error "Can't find Xcode install for Metal compiler. Please install Xcode and run Xcode.app to accept license or ensure active developer directory is set to current Xcode installation using xcode-select." I do not know why this is happening and when I do xcode-select in my terminal it shows the command tools are installed and when I check for software updates, it finds noneError.png.b451cbbec0ed5724e2d7b804f1f7f5e4.png

My Desktop: Don’t have one

My Phone: An Honor 8s (although I don’t recommend it)

My Favourite OS: Linux

My Console: A Regular PS4

My Tablet: A Huawei Mediapad m5

Have you tried opening Xcode and accepting the license terms?

I just had to enter in "sudo xcode-select -s /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer" and it worked. Thank you!

Hello, i am having the same issue and the solutions i've read on here have not worked for me.

I installed the engine first, then xcode 12.5 beta 2 from the Apple website. Now whenever i open

Unreal from the launcher, it brings the same error as in the screen shot above.

I'm new to Macs, any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks
