Ryzen 5900x or threadripper for multi-threading

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Creating apps for semiconductor wafers troubleshooting. Basically creating apps to explain errors i get from robots making semiconductors.

Other details: something compact would be helpful given the room sizes of Japanese apartments.

well there are small formfactor threadripper motherboards 

so if you dont need the single threaded performance of 5900x and need extra memory channels and you can afford threadripper go for it

otherwise iff you need single threaded performance or extra memory channels and threadripper is too expensive go for 5900x

are there any sff mobos for strx4?

 

edit: if you're only going to go for sff am4 is the only option as strx4 and trx40 dont have anything smaller than atx
