Fiio E10, E11, Schiit Magni. These are the popular amps that do the job well enough. I'm not too familiar with other amps in this price range.

what headphones and source do you currently have?

 

Unless your volume is not loud enough at max, I don't see why you would need an amp.

I would second the FiiO E10 or the E11, just got both recently to try them out, so I can give an honest opinion on them, and they're fine for what they do, amplify your source. I've read reports of floor noise and hiss on some models, but I believe that it was just a faulty set. 

Mine work fine and have no problem driving the headphones I currently have.
