some noise cancelling/suppressing headphones?

I'm not sure if the sub is right..

but since there are some construction works around here, that are really annoying and loud, I was looking to something that doesn't make me go out of mind

I've tried the sony wh1000 xm3, and the noise cancelling was not sufficient, so I sended them back, also because I cannot stand to music 24h/24h I want silence, and white noise don't help,

I've also tried earplugs and those modellable earplugs but the noise was still audible..

so what other choices do I have those construction site's headphones or what?

Probably ear protection haha.

get some thick 3M head gear and some in ears with foam tips are the best noise cancelling I've heard may not be active but cancels out a lot of the noise from where I used to work

Could get custom moulded ear protection. Those get reductions up to 30dB.
Then if that's not enough wearing a pair of ear muffs as well will really give you silence. 3m x series is the best to my knowledge. Top of my head I think 3m give about 35dB reduction.
