Sketchy Power Supply

I recently pulled out my old power supply and installed it into a new system and turn it on and it makes this horrible screeching sound like a old CRT TV it also makes another sound static discharge around 20 minutes in with the power supply on I might just buy a new power supply I don't want to risk frying old components.

 

Oh yes forgot to mention it doesn't seem like the over current protection doesn't seem to work on the Power Supply.

change it ASAP if you care about your components

Get a new one that isn't as crappy, then play with the old one on your driveway and see if you can get it to blow up.

You are taking a risk there...better to get rid.

I just bought a new one that has 80+ bronze 600w
