new pair of close back headphones

GDRRiley

I've got a well used pair of ATH-M30 and after 10 years and 1 set of new ear cup pads to make them more comfortable its time for an upgrade.

Closed back is a must,

They'll be used both at my PC and doing some audio monitor for video work (if I need another pair)

budget is under 200$

Good luck, Have fun, Build PC, and have a last gen console for use once a year. I should answer most of the time between 9 to 3 PST

I personally suggest the ath-m40x I love them. They have a very accurate sound (no bass boosted just sounds like how it was made). I personally find them amazing for everything including gaming. If you would like a more bass heavy sound (not overpowering but definitely boosted) the ath- m50x are a great choice. I have only used the m40xs and so far after about 4 months I have 0 complaints and at 100$ there far better than anything else i've used at that price range.

Akg k361 for closer to traditional neutral sound or 371 if you want Harman neutral both are great relatively easy to drive headphones pretty great for the use case. Other than that DT 770 250 ohm but needs more power than the akg's of ATH's

I've added DT770 80ohm to the list

ATH-M50x were already an option. I'll add the 40x
