No Option to Turn RTX On in Doom Eternal?

Hey LTT fam,

Just got a shiny new RTX 3090, downloaded the latest drivers and updated my Doom Eternal on Steam. It was my first time launching the game. I immediately went to the video settings to turn on that glorious RTX but didn't find an option listed anywhere to turn it on. What is the issue?

I don't have that game, but isn't it a 3rd party mod that does that? I remember seeing a video of it In March or April.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Oh I had no idea there was a mod that needed to be installed. Let me see if I can find it.

I found the video I saw. Search on "DOOM Eternal 4K - RAYTRACING | Photorealistic Graphic Mod - Ultra Graphic comparison" YouTube. Couldn't find a link that wasn't shrunk or their official website though.

I also found it on NexusMods.

Ah I looked at what you're saying. According to this article https://www.pcgamesn.com/doom-eternal/ray-tracing-mod , it seems to be an RTX mimic instead of true hardware based RTX. Unless that's the only way to get RTX on DE?

That channel uses Reshade Beta (mcfly RT),..manually injected post processing RT mods exist but not native to the game yet

 

RT has been officially announced for the Doom series but has not been advanced or released yet.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
