LTT monitor comparison video is outdated

phoon

Hey guys! Correct me if I'm wrong but LTT still hasn't made an up to date 4k vs 1440p gaming video.

This one compares a 4k 60Hz display to a 1440p 144Hz display and weighs in the benefits of higher refresh rate.

I'd like to see the same video Idea but comparing the two resolutions at 144Hz since 4k 144Hz displays now available to the gaming community.

This would help me with my next purchase.

What do you think?

My PC is a fast boyo:

6700K - 32GB - 1080 - 256GB EVO

^^You don't need more info than this right?^^

even a 3090 can barely provide 60fps at 4k ultra in newer games, let alone 144fps so those high refresh rate monitors are kinda pointless and massive minority as well.

There are so many games I can list that can and will hit 144fps even with a 3080, even some AAA titles can run on 4k 144fps if you run them on medium settings.

Some AAA games can run maxed out 100 fps and with g-sync I think the experience is worth it

The conclusion will be.... "It depends".

If you can hit 120+FPS on 4k then it's better.

If you have to make a tradeoff between graphics fidelity or FPS, it depends on your particular preference.

Yeah if the question is: "is 4k worth it?"

but my question: "Is it visually noticeable?"

depends on the size of the monitor and how far you sit from it
