How accurate is this price?

tlmills82

My daughter (8) wants to get into some light PC gaming. I’m not wanting to spend a fortune on a system just in case she doesn’t stick with it.  So I’ve been browsing Facebook Marketplace for a used system.

She’s mainly playing Minecraft, ROBLOX and a game called Star Stable for now, but may expand in the future to other light titles.

I found what seems like a decent deal today, I’m curious to see if I’m correct about it being an okay entry level machine.  It’s listed for $350 US.

I wouldn't pay more than $170-180 for that build. As old prebuilts with second/third gen i7s can be had for around $80-100. And you pop in a rx470 which goes for around $60-70 used. So, yeah, I wouldn't really pay more than $170-180.

I wouldn't really recommend processors and gpus that are older than 5years. As, technology is evolving rapidly, we have to move with the flow. Also, new parts will carry warranty, used parts won't.

Here's an example for an up to date gaming rig for around $500.

Here, the r3 3100 mentioned in the above build outperforms i7 2600 in games and 1650 super is a slightly superior card compared to rx470.
