High Ping on BF4

Okay, so this has never been a problem up until tonight. No matter how local a server I join (Tried many U.K. Servers) my Ping seems to consistently between 180ms and 240ms. Yesterday I was getting Ping time in the region of 60ms on average with no issues. Anyone have any idea's why this is happening? It'd be a great help, thanks!

cuz youre playing bugfield 4...

netcode is the worst of any AAA game. could be on your side of the connection to but i would point my finger at BF4 first...

Do you get the same latency(ping) in other games, and/or did you try speedtest? If yes, and the ping was high, it's either your ISP or more likely you've got something updating.

Yeah... most of the netcode issues that plagued the game are actually fixed with more nerfs on guns etc coming soon...

i thought last patch was nerfing and the next patch was netcode...

Yeah... most of the netcode issues that plagued the game are actually fixed with more nerfs on guns etc coming soon...

 

I still find myself being shot around corners once in a while and usually when the server is performing poorly, and I believe they are still working on improving the netcode.

have you actually played the game after patch? there is no improvement on the netcode side...

I made sure there weren't any programs updating on my end, I tried a speedtest and got a ping of 32ms. I tried Cod Ghosts, Loadout and TF2. All were fine.

there have been 2 patches recently

 

Only 1 since DICE admitted there was an issue.

 

There is still lots of packet loss going on, it all depends on the maps, mode and player count.

so depending on what you play, you may not see as many issues as other people.

Could be the game. They have introduced quite a lot of problems with the recent patches in the netcode that are causing latency increases for me and also stalls in the game. A lot of poor performance for the past month and the netcode is as broken as it ever was due to the incredibly low server tick rate of 10.

 

But I am inclined to say an increase of that much is probably a problem at your ISP or something to do with your connection. Its a bit extreme even for the problems with BF4.

I'd say high ping is most likely in your end. I've noticed lag issues in several servers that I hadn't before but none of them has shown with high ping. Just lagging and jumping, zoom problems etc. And my ping stays constant 50-65 on German servers (or 70 on French).
