RTX 3080 or Ti

StevenC

Hey,

I'm looking to upgrade to a RTX 3080 from my current GTX 970 but I'm concerned that the 10gb vram will be limiting in the coming years and I was thinking of holding out for the rumored Ti version that suppose to come with 20gb however, I kinda don't wish to spend 1k on a GPU and I don't want to go with AMD as I have an older G-Sync monitor that would be better utilized with an Nvidia GPU. I was also thinking of getting a normal 3080 and selling it in a few years as an option. Any feedback would be appreciated.

this "ti" thing is weird. THere was the origonal canceled 2x vram ti's, which got canceled about a month ago, and then there was the 7nm super leak, which wasnt canceled afiak, but it seems o be stopped, then the ti rurmors again, which have a 10gb 3080ti, which has the same(ish) gpu perf as a 3090, but with 14gb less gddr6x.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

Feels like Nvidia purposefully 'leaks" a lot of rumors to discourage people from considering AMD 6800XT because of more VRAM.
