NAS server and Minecraft server

I'm looking at building a NAS server but also think it would be cool to have a mc server too. Maybe a silly question but would it be possible to turn an old computer into both?

Yea you can easily do this? Whats the specs of the old computer?

 

Id probably install a linux distro of your choice(windows will also work), and setup your drives and shares, and mc server.

Thanks for the reply. It's got a 4th gen i3 and 4 GB of ram. Its the HP ProDesk 400 G1 Sff I think but the labels kind of scratched

yea thats more than plenty for a small mc server and a nas.

why not test it if you have the hardware?
