Budget (including currency): 1500€

Country: Portugal

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Programming, Streaming and Gaming

Other details I already have monitor, keyboard and mouse; HDD and SSD are not required since I'll take them from my previous laptop that died (which is why im doing this build)

Here's what I had in mind:
Case: NZXT H510i
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or new AMD 5000 series?
MoBo: Asus TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING AM4
Cooler: Nox H-120 Aura
RAM: 2x Team Group Kit 16GB (8x2)
Graphic's Card: RTX 3070 or AMD 6800
PSU: Corsair CX650M

Thanks in advance for helping me decide my first true build

If you want to go with the new 5xxx series cpus you need a B520 , B550 or x570 motherboard.

There may be support on B450 motherboards but beta... AMD only promises better support starting from January, so depending on your luck, a B450 motherboard may not support at this moment a Ryzen 5xxx cpu.

Otherwise the build looks good.

I'm thinking in getting a second hand AMD 3700x, that way buying last year's components might be worth so that I can invest in the rest. Will 650w do the work tho?

1. The case has really bad airflow get another case that is mesh in the front to avoid temperature issues especially because you live in a pretty darn hot country in the summer

2. Get a 5600x

3. Get a decent b550 board for the 5600x

4. The cooler is worse than most of the 25€ air coolers out there. Get something like a sycthe fuma 2 and you have one of the best coolers on the market for around 50€

5. What speed is the ram at?

6. Wait for reviews no info on the 6800

7. Get a 750w psu to be safe and a higher quality unit.

All these modifications easily fit in the budget and will result in a better system

I disagree on the power supply. A 650w psu will be plenty.

The 3080 goes up to 350w or so, the AMD cards don't go over 300-320 watts. You're left with 300w+ for processor and everything else .. a 6-8 core Ryzen 5xxx won't go over 100-120 watts.

The CXM model is acceptable, but yeah, ideally you'll want to go for something better, aim for gold efficiency from reputable manufacturers

What brands of case do you guys suggest then?
Are the benefits of a 5600x that better for the price?
Never heard of sycthe, i was thinking in corsair h100i AIO watercooling instead of NOX
The rams are 3200mhz

Scythe has been around for ever and is behind legendary fan series such as gentle typhoon. If you go for an AIO then you might want to take a look at Arctic liquid freezer II 240/280, which has the best noise to performance ratio of any AIO, and lower price, but no RGB. If you're mainly gaming, then 5600x is a no brainer, unless you get a really good deal on a 3700x.

Gaming PC:

CPU: Ryzen 5800X3D | Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Elite V2 | RAM: Crucial 2x16gb, 3200  JEDEC. | PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750 G3 | Monitor: LG 27GL850-B , Samsung C27HG70 |
GPU: Asus Prime RTX 5070ti OC| Sound: Odac + Fiio E09K | Case: Fractal Design R6 TG Blackout |Storage: Kingston Renegade 2TB and Corsair MP510 960gb | Cooling: CPU: Alphacool ST30 420mm rad, Alphacool CPU and GPU Core LT and Core blocks, D5 pump and res combo

Linux PC:

CPU: Ryzen 7700| Motherboard: Asus A620M-CSM | RAM: Crucial Pro 2x48gb, 5600  JEDEC. | PSU: Corsair CX750 | Monitor: LG 27GL850-B , Samsung C27HG70 |
GPU: MSI Gaming X RTX 3090 | Case: Lian Li Dan Cases A3-mATX black |Storage: SN7100 2TB + Samsung 860 EVO 512gb | Cooling: CPU: Thermalright Peerless Assassin Mini Fan(s): Noctua 1x NF-A14x25 Chromax

Im more into the RBG AIO watercooling so I guess I'll stick with corsair H100i;
My last question would really be what Motherboard should I be looking at
