What will you suggest? :) I guess I am looking for good audio by buying a $220 headset.

Well, before you go doubling down on your already expensive investment let's see if the quality you're looking for doesn't just come down to an issue of lousy onboard audio. Do you have a laptop, phone, tablet, or other device that has a headphone jack? Is the audio any better out of any of those or just as bad?

Speakers, but both basically. Expected a lot more from the pricing.

Are you plugged directly into the motherboard or via chassis front I/O?

I'm by no means a audio aficionado (someone like @Den-Fi should be able to offer a better answer here) but I have been told that with high-end headphones like the type that use the 6.35mm jack that what I believe are called "drivers" (the speakers or speaker coils) require more umph more power the audio chipset on a motherboard can't provide it and you end up with quieter sounds with worse quality.

If one didn't come with the headset you might need an AMP/DAC but take this advice with a grain of salt until someone else can confirm it.

I am using the cable that came with the headset and tried connecting through front ports and motherboard back port but they sound the same. Should I get an amp like the 1000?

Let's wait for someone else with more knowledge here before you go investing more money into your audio setup.

Looks like your onboard audio uses the Realtek ALC887 codec. High-end motherboards use something like the S1220A. Generally speaking though you don't want to use either for driving very high-end headphones. Most audiophiles use an AMP/DAC that connects via USB.

Are you just looking for good audio or are you looking for great audio?

the 1000 is decent. sounds good has some cool VSS. the  gsp 600 sounds good but does not warrant the price. going with the soundblaster g6 would be a better option IMo has more power less features but more powerful as a device.
